I think Kubric wasn’t trying to make a porno movie but the reality of
the atrocities that society lived in the story. It’s obvious that Kubric was no
going to make a rape scene attractive.
When Alex was a hooligan at least he decided what to do, but when he
became a puppet from the government, he started to act like a robot. It’s
better to have free will than to be enslaved by someone or something.
I agree in the part that the writer said that Alex and his gang saw
other like if they were less human. For example the part when they saw a drunk
old man in the floor and they started to hit him until he starts bleeding. How
gives them the right to hit him? No one. But others are inferior right? That’s
why we hit them and rape them.
Why does society see this movie as something violent when this is what
really happens? We live in our little perfect world where nothing wrong
happens. Dead and rapes are far away from our homes. There’s a difference
between something that isn’t happening and something that is happening but we
don’t want to admit that it’s happening.
