I believe that Kubrick tried to recreate a movie with the same characteristics as the book, but as all the movies the book is better, and as this book has a lot of rape scenes and violence Kubrick tried to modify them in order to not causing a big outrageous impact in the people, because no one likes to be aware of the cruelties of the world, no one wants to know the dark side of the society, that's why I think he changed some details of the book and made them less aggressive in the movie.

A thing that the author of the article mentions is the intervention of the police at the lady's house where they capture Alex, and started controlling him (as a mupppet), I agree with this because once he is told how to act his bad habits of raping girls and steal things are gone, preventing that he causes more damages among other people.
