Fearing Death

We are all going to die. That is a fact and even if we do not like it, we cannot change it. Everything in life comes in cycles; these most begin but also end at some point.  Most of us are used to say we fear death, we do not know when or how we will die and that for sure that scares us quite a bit, but I do believe we do not fear death, we fear what it involves.
In life we have lots of fears; we fear failure, hunger, loneliness, not being socially accepted, oblivion, sicknesses, and many other things. When we die, these problems stop being problems, but what happens next? What happens after death? That is a very difficult question because since we do not have enough information, there is no answer. We really do not know what happens after death therefore what we are scared of is not death, it is the unknown.

There are many different ways to die, some more painful than others but in the end, we do not how we will die or when will it happen. We do not have the opportunity of choosing a date, hour for dying or how we are going to die. I personally believe we do not fear death, we fear the unknown, oblivion and dying. We fear whatever that comes after death, we do not really know what happens then, but we are afraid of whatever that we do not know. We are afraid of not being able to rise above, succeed and instead being forgotten in this world. We are afraid of the way in which we will die because for sure we do not know in which way we will die nor in which moment. We all die in the most unexpected way, right in the middle of the sentence.

We should stop fearing death and “Start living life at the fullest” as Ernest Hemmingway says. As far as we know we only have one life and we should avail it as much as we can and enjoy every second. We know we are going to die, we do not know how or when and that is what we fear but why not stop fearing and wearing about it and instead enjoy it as much as we can. For this reason, our best option is to live our lives in the best way we can until the moment our last breath comes.

  1. Great job! Really like the writing style. Why do we fear the unknown?
