“The Lazy-net”
Today’s tendencies are making the world a whole
different place than it was 30 years old. Now at days everything is easier and
we can get the necessary things just by extending our hands and grabbing our
cell phones. I think things are not easier, they are more simple; and if we had
to blame something or someone then guilty would be the INTERNET.
First of all, is impossible to recognize the great
advantage that the worldwide connection has brought to global communication is
just amazing. Now we can talk and share with people all over the world just by tapping
on a keyboard. Beside from that, is easier to the States of every country get
into business and to trade and spread their products in more than one place;
which is beneficial for every economy. Also the information sources are
literary “in the air”. In the 21st century any knowledge that we
want to enlarge is available in a cloud that brings together the most extensive
encyclopedias in the world.
Anyway, every advantage walks holding hands with a
dark side. “Thanks” to the Internet human contact is being degraded by the
social media and social network. People rather using WhatsApp to talk with
someone that is just 10 minutes away than planning a meeting and discuss as
people used to do. Also, to share a memory or to tell an experience, the usual is
to hit the “Share a Memory” button that Facebook offers to its users. Another
thing, which I consider the most disturbing, is that the citizens of the world
prefer using the 3D trips that Google Maps and Maps offers instead of getting into
a plane and living the experience by their selves, and not through a the screen
in their cell phones, tablets and computers.
Beyond the poor and shameful use of the INTERNET by
us, the ordinary people, also another type of person is miss-using this
advantage. A “class” that used to be categorized as the most important, strong
and as the leaders of the future: the students. Classes used to be the more
representative thing of a student, but now that belief is decreasing. The
students now ask to their selves: why waking up at 6 am in the morning to “learn”
something that I can get in Wikipedia? Also students are putting in practice
the use of online teachers (who sometimes are just a software), creating an
empty in the classrooms of students and real professors. Who knows, maybe one
day the Congress of the United States will come to an agreement talking by
Skype. I’m sure it will happen if “the leaders of the future” can’t hold a
conversation between human beings instead of computers.
It is more than true than the INTERNET is part of our
lives now. Part of progress, part of human evolution. But I can’t hide my words
and say that I’m not worried about mothers in the future breaking up to tears
when their kids first use a computer instead of crying when they are dropped in
their first day of school. We, as “leader”, must pay attention to a incoming
wave of changes and difficulties if we keep not seen the real meaning of such a
good advantage.
Great job! I really like the topic. Your sentences are MUCH better! Way to go. You have some lexical errors, but that will come with more practice.
